On April 20 and 21, 35 Greene County FFA members traveled to Ames for the 87th Iowa FFA convention. Students attended sessions, workshops, CDE’s, and tours to help expand their agricultural knowledge and leadership skills. Total membership is the chapter is about 100 students.
At the conference, Greene County chapter president Wade Wuebker was elected as southwest district treasurer. According to chapter advisor Cortney Schmidt, Wuebker is the first district officer from Greene County in many years.
After assisting with the fourth grade farm tour April 23, the chapter’s next event is its plant sale Friday, May 8, from 10 am to 5 pm at the FFA greenhouse at Greene County High School.
